My thoughts go out to the victims affected by the recent earthquakes in Ecuador and Japan, as well their families and friends. I simply can’t imagine what it must be like to go through such a situation. There really are no words.
What these people need more than my own well-wishes, however, is action. And the only real action I can provide is by donating some money. I urge you to do the same — the cost of a cup of coffee can go a long way in providing relief!
Here are some charities you could donate to (no affiliation, other than donating to some):
- Kumamoto Quake Info: Where to go, and how to help (Japan Times); Scroll down to Financial Donations.
Global Giving (via above link)
Japanese Red Cross (via above link)
I know for many Americans, the Red Cross immediately leaps to mind. Unfortunately, they are not currently seeking funds, since they haven’t been asked by Japan and Ecuador as of this writing. See more. That said, you might want to consider making a donation anyway. For those in the UK, There’s the British Red Cross Disaster Fund.
